Welcome!

Here is a list of all the beers that I have brewed. All the beers that I have recipes for anyway. Some of the earlier recipes are based on recipes found on Home Brew Talk, some were created with help of friends, and some are my own, but all were built with BeerSmith and imported to this site. Happy brewing!

This is still a work in progrss, and I'm always brewing, so check back often for new recipes.

03/03/2012 - An English State of Mind

I got the brewing itch pretty bad again last weekend, so I took stock of my inventory and discovered that I had just enough Golden Promise for two brews. Winter is almost over, and even though it hasn't been that cold this year I decided it was time for something a little lighter. Given that my base malt was Golden Promise the decision to make some English beer was an easy one. The first thing that came to mind was my traditional bitter (Electric Special Bitter) that I made last year. That was a big hit with friends, so why not bring it back? For beer number two I decided to make an English Brown Porter. This is a style that I have wanted to brew for quite some time now but never got around to actually making it for some reason.

Since I had what I suspect is a sanitation problem with the "House Lager" I bought all new tubing and ale pails for these new beers. I don't want to have to pour out entire kegs any more. I made two massive yeast starters (because they can never be too big) during the week and made sure that all my equipment was clean and ready to go. Finally, with my coffee pot programmed to turn on at 7:00 AM, Saturday brew-day arrived! It's amazing to me how much more eager I am to wake up early when I'm doing something other than going to work. I mashed-in the bitter at about 7:40, and pitched it at 11:00. On to the porter! This one went just as smoothly and was in the fermenter shortly after 3:00. Not a bad brew day!

I have finally figured out the correct amount of water to boil, so I hit my OG targets with beers. In fact, the bitter has higher efficiency than planned for, over 70% in fact. That's a first for my electric rig! I look forward to adding these to my kegerator soon! Recipes are posted on the right.

01/02/2012 - New Recipes Added

Happy New Year! My winter beer lineup is finally complete, and all my new recipes are posted here on this site. I really have not had time to do any work on this site in a long time, and my day job is taking me farther and farther away from web apps like this one. So I'm not sure if this will ever be anything more than my personal online recipe database, but that's OK.

The good news is that the quality of my brewing has been at an all time high recently, with very few exceptions! Take a look at some of the most recent recipes and you will not be disappointed.
